6. My first security screening
My first security interview was conducted as part of the recruitment process, sometime in early May 2023. I only got access to the meeting notes almost eight months after I requested them.
I remember that, among other things, I had an extract from the Security Protection Act (2018/585) read to me and I announced that I fully understood the meaning of this and that I took the duty of confidentiality and security issues very seriously.
I experienced the whole thing as well managed. It was an experienced manager who interviewed me, and he didn’t ask what demonstrations I might possibly participate in in the future or what I planned to post on social media, because it would have gone against the constitution to do so.
As for my climate commitment, we talked about it in general terms at the interview, but I didn’t get any follow-up questions on what exactly that meant, for the same reason as above. At the time, I wasn’t particularly involved in Mothers Rebellion either, so it simply didn’t come up.
I think the general conclusion was that I was judged to be a responsible citizen and that I had all the prerequisites to do a good job. I personally think that assessment still applies.
This security assessment has since been strongly criticized in the media, and I have been asked by Peter Wennblad, among other things, if it was my former head of department who was in charge of it. I answered no. In addition to the review by the Energy Agency, SÄPO did a record check on me without any comments.
